Owl at the bird cafe
Recently, we were treated to a visit by a boreal owl at the bird cafe. All the chickadees, grosbeaks and red polls waited patiently in the outlying tree branches while they watched what this owl would do. It seemed to be content to just hang out. Eventually, it flew off and immediately became invisible in the bare woods. In researching these owls, I learned that they roost in a different tree each night. I’ve never seen one of these close up before, so it was a rare treat.
